Hi, friends this is about how to prepare for Gre. Gre is one of the world class test which is more of testing the IQ level of the students.
Quant: The number if concepts required are less but the depth you require is more. The more you practice the more you can score. Just go through the maths review section from official guide and practice about 400 questions from BIG book it would be enough.
English: here you will be tested in 3 skills firstly vocabulary, for this download the Magoosh Flash cards and just learn all those words. Their the example sentences given are the just sentence equivalent questions, so you can actually practice guessing the meaning without having look at the meaning given but by understanding the sentence given. This proves to be a great help in solving sentence equivalence questions.
Secondly logical thinking will be tested in text completion questions along with vocabulary. Just knowing the words of the given questions will not lead you anywhere but the analysis of the text will complete you answering these questions.
Finally critical reasoning is tested in reading comprehension. I consider this as the easiest section if you are provided with adequate time, which is not going to happen so the more you speed up yourself in reading, understanding, analyzing the passage will fetch the more marks.
If you could take up a offline class room training then it would be of great help to you. Prefer Jeeva's institute if you are an hyderabadite. And if you could not make to offline classes you can still take up online classes from Magoosh website.
Some must things you need to do before you go to exam are read 1) complet official guide 2) learn all 1000 odd words from Magoosh flash cards. 3) power prep practice tests.
I have booked my slot to take up test on may 2nd 2014..
Pls provide me your feedback or if you have any doubts you may contact me @ sundeep15685@gmail.com.
